A brand new gateway connecting Cushman Campus to Maharlika Highway has been formally inaugurated in a simple ceremony held last July 2.
Constructed on a property adjacent to the Motorpool and bought from the AvanceƱa and Licup families, the WUP North Gate provides Wesleyans convenient access to the highway without having to pass through the bustling street of Mabini Extension.
It also serves to relieve the main gate of heavy traffic, as well as to avoid incidents of snatching and physical assault as some guards have been stationed in the area.
The soft opening coincided with WUP’s Thanksgiving Celebrations and was witnessed by some Wesleyan faculty and staff.
President Palomo made a brief speech after the gate was blessed by University Chaplain Rev. Rodel Layugan.
Construction of the main gate was under the supervision of Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Manuel V. Palomo, Jr. ###
