All Wesleyans students, faculty and staff are welcome to contribute. Guidelines for submission are as follows:

News
News submissions must be complete, written in clear and accurate language. We follow the universal one-sentence-per-paragraph standard, and details must be given in their most exact form (e.g., exact date and venue of event). Please include relevant pictures (if any) and statement/s from persons included in the news (when appropriate).

Submissions must be sent to the Office of Alumni Affairs, 3F Administration Bldg. WU-P, or emailed to wesleyanupdates@gmail.com with the words NEWS UPDATES as the subject.

Features
Features are essays about certain topics of interest. They may either be about Wesleyan or beyond, as long as they remain relevant to the institution. Preference shall be given to articles which feature lesser-known but important facts about the school, its people, or even facilities. Photo essays are also encouraged. Feature write-ups must not exceed beyond 5, 000 words, and must contain a few pictures about the topic if possible.

Submissions must be sent to the Office of Alumni Affairs, 3F Administration Bldg. WU-P, or emailed to wesleyanupdates@gmail.com with the words FEATURES UPDATES as the subject.

Points of View
Points of View are opinions about current events and situations happening at Wesleyan. Everyone is free to submit and is eligible to be published in our blog, but only those that are written in clear, professional and thought-provoking style shall be published in the monthly newsletter and quarterly magazine editions. Opinion write-ups must not exceed 1, 000 words. Those who regularly get published may be given their own column space both in the electronic and the paper version.

Submissions must be sent to the Office of Alumni Affairs, 3F Administration Bldg. WU-P, or emailed to wesleyanupdates@gmail.com with the words POV UPDATES as the subject.

Literary
For the literary page, submissions may either be:
• Poetry – anyone may submit a maximum of three poems per month, from which we shall choose only one or two for publication. However, not all works published in the blog but only the best works shall be included in the magazine edition.

• Prose – anyone may submit only a maximum of one short story or essay per month. Like the poetry section, only the best shall be included in every magazine issue, but several may be published in the blog. Short stories must not exceed a maximum of 7, 000 words, while essays must not exceed a maximum of 5, 000. Essays may be formal (short academic or scientific articles, treatises or abstracts) or informal (criticisms and reviews, personal sketch, or personal reflections on certain topics).

Submissions must be sent to the Office of Alumni Affairs, 3F Administration Bldg. WU-P, or emailed to wesleyanupdates@gmail.com with the words LITERARY UPDATES as the subject. Literary articles are published only in the magazine edition.

Announcements
We also publish announcements about upcoming events, competitions, or call to papers provided that they are relevant to Wesleyan. Please send the complete details at least one month prior to the actual date to wesleyanupdates@gmail.com.

*******

Please do not forget to include the name of the contributor, plus a short profile. All submissions must be original (notify us if one has already been published in some other journal or paper).

All articles are subject to a screening process. Since the publication is financed by a non-stock, non-profit university, please understand that we do not grant honorarium for every article we publish.

Opinions published in Wesleyan Updates are not necessarily endorsed by the editor. Criteria for selecting articles to be published are not based on partisan preference but on journalistic/technical/literary merit. We promote freedom of expression unless waived by the need to abide by copyright and libel laws. For any reactions, corrections, suggestions, or inquiries, email us at wesleyanupdates@gmail.com.
